  D. Zisiadis is collaborating with the Centre for Reserach & Technology Hellas (CERTH/ITI) and the Department of Computer Engineering, Telecommunications and Networks of University of Thessaly.  He received his MSc on «Computer Networks and Digital Communications» from the Computer Science dpt, University of Crete and his PhD on "Security and Network Management in Modern Telecommunications Networks" from the Computer & Communications Engineering dpt, University of Thessaly. He worked as a Network Engineer in the Computer Center of the University of Crete, supporting the node of EARN/BITNET in Greece (GREARN) and the SNA, X25 and TCP/IP University networks. He was responsible for the IP numbers registration (RIPE's last resort IP registry for Greece) and for the domain system in Greece (DNS Hostmaster for the .GR domain). After that he was Technical Director in FORTHnet SA, developing and supervising its access network and  core IP network. He implemented FORTHnet's ATM network, which was the first in Greece, supporting its IP, Frame Relay and later Voice service networks. He also designed and supervised the deployment of wireless networks in the licensed-free spectrum of 2.4 GHz and performed evaluation and feasibility studies in point-to-multipoint wireless systems (FWA, Fixed Wireless Access Systems) as well as the implementation of a 3.7m VSAT station in Athens which supported the company's Internet over Satellite services. He was also representing the company in organizations and committees like the Ministry of Communications and the National Regulatory Authority (EETT). Later he worked for WorldCom as the Customer Service and Operations Manager for Greece. During this time he had a major contribution to the establishment of the company, he implemented WorldCom's network in Greece and he organized the Service Delivery and Customer support functions. Since then he is an Instructor for the Computer Engineering, Telecom and Network dpt of University of Thessaly. His main areas of interest are computer networks, mobile communications and wireless communications.
